Expand your light spectrum

Expand your light spectrum with our matching UV-A and far-red add-ons. They are available in three versions: UV-A, NIR or UV-A+NIR, which can be used within one setup. Each add-on has its own unique spectrum. UV-A and NIR can be used with separate timers for maximum effect. When simplicity is required, the combined UV-A+NIR fixture is the best choice.

Why UV?

UV wavelengths can change a plant’s colour, flavour and smell. These changes often make plants more attractive to humans but more toxic to some insects. Plants with increased levels of these flavour and aroma compounds are less frequently eaten by insects! Finally, UV light prevents the spread and severity of fungal spores.

Far-red (NIR)

Can be used as a photosynthesis booster in combination with red light. When used after sunset, it accelerates night-time metabolism and the sleep rhythm. Far-red accelerates flower initiation and may shorten the night and extend the day for more photosynthesis (higher DLI).

During vegetative growth and early flowering, plants can grow taller. Conversely, plants can initially be kept very compact (far-red off) and during the transition to flowering.
