Lamps: compare the complete type designation
When replacing a lamp, start with the markings on the existing one. Note the technology, base, rated power and dimensions. This selection includes HPS and metal-halide lamps alongside compact lamps, fluorescent tubes and other lighting accessories. The category name alone does not identify the technology you need.
E40 and matching wattage are not enough
The range also includes 600 W lamps marked «400 V». These require the appropriate ballast version. Check the exact combination before choosing a replacement. HPS and MH are different lamp types too; a mechanically fitting socket does not establish electrical suitability.
Check the shape of tubes and compact lamps
The T8 tubes are offered in versions such as 120 cm at 36 W and 150 cm at 58 W. Length, base and control gear all matter. A G23 compact lamp or a Dulux D has a different form and is not an arbitrary replacement. Starters are offered separately, and their suitability depends on the existing fixture.
