Sticky traps for regular pest monitoring
Small flying insects are not always immediately visible among plants. Coloured sticky traps help reveal their presence and track changes across repeated inspections. This category offers yellow and blue traps, each in packs of five. Choose the colour according to the group of insects you want to monitor.
Which colour suits your inspection?
Blue traps are used to monitor thrips. Yellow traps catch insects including fungus gnats, whiteflies and leaf-miner flies. Captures provide clues about flying adults present around the plants. They do not reliably show larvae in the growing medium or immobile stages on leaves. Complement the traps with direct plant inspection and, when useful, a closer look through a magnifier or microscope.
Make observations comparable
Position the traps according to their product instructions and record the date and location. Compare captures over similar intervals and replace traps that are dirty or heavily covered. A capture alone does not provide a complete diagnosis. These traps are mainly intended for monitoring and do not replace an appropriate response to a confirmed infestation. Used consistently, they help you decide more carefully which further measures are needed.
