Lighting accessories for connections, schedules and maintenance
A missing cable or unsuitable timer can hold up a lighting installation. Start with the connections on your existing light: do you need a power supply cable, a control connection or scheduled switching? Each task requires different components.
Distinguish power cables from control cables
The 3 m T12/IEC-C13 cable is an appliance power lead. The 4 m cable is described as having an IEC-C14 connector at one end. Compare both ends and the requirements of your device before choosing a replacement cable.
RJ45 cables are available in lengths of 2, 5 and 10 m. To use one with a lighting controller, its manufacturer must specify that cable type and pin configuration. A matching connector shape is not enough. The RJ45 Y-adapter is not a universal splitter for lighting controls either; as a passive network splitter, it does not replace an active switch.
Program switching times for your routine
The digital timer offers weekly programming and 20 switching programs, allowing you to account for different days of the week. Before connecting it, check that the timer supports your lighting’s load type and power consumption; a maximum wattage rating alone does not settle this.
For maintenance with both hands free, the tilting LUMii head torch complements the range. It requires three AAA batteries, sold separately.
