PE irrigation fittings: connect the planned pipe route
Extending a line, turning a corner or splitting it into two branches? The connector shape follows the route you need. Before ordering, note both sides of every connection. This tells you whether you are joining pipe to pipe or connecting to a tap, pump or filter.
Keep millimetres and inches distinct
On a 25 mm × 1 inch coupling, the millimetre dimension identifies the suitable pipe side and the inch dimension identifies the thread. In German product labels, IG means female thread and AG means male thread. Compare these specifications with the mating part; a 25 mm pipe and a 1-inch thread are not interchangeable connection types.
Straight connectors extend a line. An elbow changes direction by 90°, while a tee creates a branch. On a reducing tee such as 25 × 16 × 25 mm, the branch has a different diameter from the main line.
Plan shut-off, filtration and expansion
Allow for end caps on unused line ends and an accessible shut-off point for maintenance. A filter needs matching threads and room for cleaning. Sealing materials and assembly methods must suit the particular connection; not every pipe joint seals at a thread. Also check each part's pressure rating rather than applying one valve's rating to the whole system.
