Humidifiers: add moisture where the air is too dry
If the air around your plants stays too dry, a humidifier can add moisture. A hygrometer helps you identify the need and track the change. Choose the setting according to measured conditions and your plants' requirements, rather than simply using the highest mist output.
Separate tank capacity from mist output
The VDL ultrasonic humidifier has a 4-litre tank and continuously adjustable mist output. Tank capacity describes the water reserve. How long it lasts depends on the selected output and actual running time. A larger tank therefore does not automatically mean more moisture per hour or adequate capacity for every room.
Manual adjustment or humidity-based control?
Adjustable mist output is not the same as automatic control to a set humidity level. If you want to use an external humidistat, first check electrical compatibility and whether the humidifier resumes operation after a power interruption. Choose an accessible position for refilling and cleaning. Keep the measuring probe out of the direct mist stream so that it measures the room air.
