Choose a water tank by footprint and connections
Your own water reserve can simplify irrigation. Capacity is only one consideration: the container must pass through the entrance, fit its final position and remain accessible for refilling, cleaning and hose connections. Compare the assembled dimensions with the space available.
A flexible barrel or a rectangular reservoir?
Flexible tanks take up little space when transported or stored empty. The 100-litre Flexi-Tank is listed with a diameter of 40 cm and a height of 82 cm. The 500-litre model measures 80 cm in diameter and 100 cm in height. Allow for the filled tank's footprint; a narrow doorway alone need not rule out a larger barrel.
A rectangular reservoir offers a different shape: the 65-litre basin measures 68 × 46 × 31 cm, while the 180-litre version measures 79 × 60 × 48 cm. A lower profile can make access from above easier. Also check that the planned pump and its pipework have enough room.
Check what comes with each size
The 100-litre Flexi-Tank includes a tap with a tank fitting; the 500-litre model explicitly does not. Both product descriptions list a zipped lid. Do not assume that the equipment supplied with one model also comes with another size.
Choose tank fittings to suit the hose dimensions and container. The listed 13, 19 and 25 mm versions are different connections. A separate strainer retains coarse debris at the inlet or outlet. Plan a level base capable of supporting the load and keep the drain accessible for maintenance.
