Thermo-hygrometers: see what happens between checks
The temperature looks right when you check it, but how cold was it overnight? A thermo-hygrometer with min/max memory records the highest and lowest readings. It reveals fluctuations that a single reading misses and helps you assess whether additional control is needed.
Plan the measuring point and display position separately
The Garden HighPro and Mammoth devices measure temperature and relative humidity. A model with a cable probe lets you measure temperature at a second point while keeping the display accessible. Check where the humidity sensor is located: two temperature measuring points do not automatically mean two humidity measuring points.
Compare cable length, display size and measuring range with your intended location. The Garden HighPro version has a 1.5 m probe cable; the Mammoth XXL has a large display for easier reading. Display resolution is not the same as measurement accuracy. Small differences between two devices may fall within their specified tolerances.
Monitor readings or switch equipment automatically?
A thermo-hygrometer shows the climate conditions but does not switch a heater on. The ROOT!T thermostat also listed here provides temperature-based control of suitable heat mats. Choose it when you want active control, and check the connections, permitted heating load and sensor position against your mat.
