Plant lighting: plan the area before choosing a light
A propagation tray on a shelf has different requirements from a larger growing area in a tent. Measure the area to be lit and the available space above it. Then compare light shape, recommended coverage and adjustment options. Wattage describes electrical power, but not how evenly the light reaches your plants.
A complete light or an individual lamp?
For example, the eSun LED tubes are offered with a fixture and reflector. An individual HPS or MH lamp instead requires a compatible socket, a suitable ballast and the remaining fixture components. Lamp type, power and operating specifications need to match. An E40 base alone does not establish compatibility.
Include controls and supplementary equipment
For LED systems, check the package contents: are the driver, power cable and suspension included? Is the light dimmable, and which controls does it support? UV and NIR add-ons supplement the systems they are designed for; they do not replace the main lighting. Reflectors, suspension equipment and spare parts are also available for existing setups. Match them to the exact model of your equipment.
