Hoses
Match your watering wand, hose and connections
A longer watering wand helps reach pots at the back. For comfortable use, the handle, spray head and hose routing also need to suit the space. First decide whether you are using an existing water supply, replacing a wand or looking for a set with its own reservoir and pump.
A fixed metal wand or an adjustable spray head?
The RP Alu Profi wand is 1 m long, with a metal spray head and a trigger lock for continuous watering. The Pro Luxe III telescopes to 1.1 m. It has a swivelling head, nine spray settings and adjustable water flow. Choose according to the reach and controls you actually need.
The separately listed watering-wand set also includes a reservoir, pump, 10 m of hose and connection pieces according to its listing. Compare the full contents if you already own some components; a wand sold on its own does not automatically include these extras.
Distinguish hose lengths from connection sizes
Alphaflex water hoses are sold by the metre: the 1/2-inch version has a stated internal diameter of 13 mm, and the 3/4-inch version 19 mm. The listed 25 m roll length is therefore not automatically your order quantity. The 25 mm PE irrigation pipe is also sold by the metre.
Hose couplings must match the hose size, while tap connectors must match the thread. For a hose clamp, the outside diameter of the connected hose also matters. Note these dimensions separately. Capillary tubing and air hoses serve different purposes from the water hose feeding a wand; choose them for their respective system connections.
