Cuttings and mother plants
Lighting for cuttings and mother plants: match shelf and plant area
For a propagation tray, first check whether the light fits the shelf’s length and depth. The eSun LED versions listed here measure 60 cm at 10 W and 90 cm at 15 W. They include a fixture and reflector. Allow extra room for brackets and cables, especially on shelving with several levels.
Check lighting technology and accessories
The 60 cm, 24 W JumpStart T5 also offered here uses a fluorescent tube. It is technically different from the eSun LEDs, so replacement tubes and connection accessories need to match the specific system. The 40 cm linking cable is described for eSun LED strips and is sold separately.
Work lighting does not replace plant lighting
The green Lumii headlamp leaves your hands free for work; it is not the main light for a growing area. For larger mother plants, use their actual width and height when planning lighting. Choose the light and distance according to the relevant manufacturer specifications, not wattage or tube length alone.
