Propagation lights for trays and growing shelves
Propagation lights supplement illumination during the early plant stages. This category includes eSun LED fittings with reflectors and a JumpStart T5 light. The eSun versions differ in length and power, and a matching connection cable for the eSun system is also listed. Choose a light around the area occupied by your trays, the available mounting height and the intended fixing method. A slim fitting can suit shelving, but its length alone does not describe the full area it illuminates.
Choose lighting technology and accessories together
LED and T5 fluorescent systems each need compatible components. Check whether the fitting, lamp, reflector, power cable and suspension are included. A linking cable is suitable only for its intended system. The permitted number of connected lights follows the instructions for that particular series; different systems are not automatically interchangeable.
Leave sufficient room between plants, propagator lid and light, following the manufacturer’s mounting guidance. Wattage and colour temperature help comparisons but do not replace information about light distribution. Monitor young plant development and adjust lighting within the recommended limits. A suitable timer can add a regular daily schedule. Arrange brackets and cables so that watering and opening the propagator remain practical.
