Garland - heated windowsill propagator, 76 x 18.5 x 19.5 cm

A bright windowsill is a practical spot for sowing seeds and propagating cuttings. However, especially during the cooler months, draughts can occur, and the growing medium remains too cold despite sufficient daylight. Garland's heated propagator unit combines the slim shape of a windowsill propagator with bottom heat. On the 76 cm long heated base stand three separate mini greenhouses. This allows you to grow different varieties side by side without having to place all seeds or cuttings in a single tray.

The base contains a 13-watt carbon fiber heating element that distributes heat evenly across the surface. According to Garland, the device is designed to raise the temperature of the growing substrate by approximately 8 °C above the ambient temperature. This is a guideline: the actual temperature depends, among other factors, on the room temperature and location. The heater does not have a thermostat. Therefore, a fixed target temperature cannot be set on this propagator. If your plants require a specific temperature, you can check the substrate with a suitable thermometer.

Each of the three mini greenhouses has its own growing tray and a high, transparent lid. Approximately 23 x 17 cm of floor space is available per tray. The high lids also accommodate larger cuttings and help retain humidity around young plants. Adjustable vents allow you to regulate airflow for each unit separately. This makes it possible to care for seeds and cuttings with different requirements side by side. Once rooted, you can acclimate the plants to drier indoor air by gradually opening the vents.

The propagator is suitable for indoor cultivation or in a suitable spot in a greenhouse. Place it on a flat, bright surface and avoid strong draughts. Keep the substrate moist according to the plant species, without overwatering. Check temperature and moisture regularly, especially under direct sunlight. This allows you to use bottom heat effectively while adapting light, watering, and ventilation to your young plants.

• Place the heated base on a flat, suitable surface.
• Fill the three trays with growing substrate or suitable small seed pots and place them on the base.
• Put the lids on and adjust their vents according to humidity needs.
• Check substrate and temperature regularly. Keep the electrical base and power supply dry when watering.
